I started a nonprofit organization from scratch: the National Association of Charter School Authorizers. In the beginning, it was nothing more than an idea. Over time, with clear goals, solid management, and strong partnerships, we achieved great things.
I raised over $45 million in contributions and $15 million of earned income. We changed state and federal laws, hosted annual conferences attended by thousands, provided training in person and virtual, conducted research, and shaped professional practices across the country. We did all this within a positive work culture, consistently scoring above the 90th percentile on Gallup’s national employee satisfaction survey. We also had flawless financial management, with 8 consecutive years without an audit finding.
Now, I help other nonprofit leaders achieve great things.
